Photography: Christopher Griffith's Power Tokyo Series

Inspired by the dual personality of Tokyo's carefully manicured gardens, precise food presentation and routinely swept pavements contrasted with the chaos that is the jumble of wires that carry the city's electricity overhead Christopher Griffith created his Power Tokyo series. His photographs of the tangled black wires contrasted against a stark white sky have both an abstract, graphic feel as well as a detailed realism. As Griffith himself says 'The distribution of electrical power in Tokyo is an utter disaster.'

On my last trip to Osaka, inspired by Griffith's photographs I attempted to create my own 'Power' series.
